The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service (CFNIS) conducted three separate investigations into the death of Cpl Stuart Langridge, who was found hanging in an army barracks room. The Military Police Complaints Commission (MPCC) held a public interest hearing to investigate complaints about the CFNIS investigations, including allegations of a lack of independence and bias in favour of the military. The MPCC found that the CFNIS investigations were deficient in several respects, including a failure to properly investigate certain matters and a lack of transparency in their interactions with the complainants.
