Redacted summary

In the evening, officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance in the area of a city, altering course to a nearby location following a related call about a person on the roof of a building. The subject officer was the first to arrive on scene, followed by two other officers. The person on the roof, the affected person, was found to be of unsound mind and had earlier called police reporting a break-in attempt at their residence. They exited their residence through a window and made their way to the location, ascending onto the roof via an exterior ladder. The officers attempted to persuade the affected person to come down safely, but they threatened to jump if not provided with a cigarette and hung from a light bar attached to the top of the exterior wall. As negotiations were ongoing, a fire truck arrived on scene. The affected person eventually lost their grip on the light bar and fell to the ground, landing feet-first, and was transported to hospital with multiple fractures of both feet.
