The Commission's Final Report regarding a shooting death in Buick Creek, B.C. was released. The incident involved a person who shot out the tires of a vehicle containing their family members, who were on their way to a wedding. The driver of the vehicle was able to proceed to a nearby residence, but the person followed them and shot out the remaining tires. The family travelled on to the wedding and remained out of town until the matter could be resolved, on the advice of the police. Attempts were made by police to speak with the person, but they were not cooperative. The police Emergency Response Team was ultimately activated. The incident was investigated under the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Act, Subsection 45.72(2).
